With Promiss2, scientists want to acquire a better understanding of protein crystal growth processes . The experiment can be followed on the ground by the responsibles. It works in two steps.

The B.USOC receives the experiment images and data from the International Space Station and sends them in their turn to the laboratory (this is called a User Home Base or UHB) of the Promiss team. This team verifies their usability as they arrive, so that corrections in the set up are still possible if necessary. Monday, tuesday and wednesday such correction tables were necessary and were sent up to the ISS.

Besides the five Belgian experiments, the spanish astronaut also has to perform 19 other european experiments. That is why it is a rather calm day for the Belgian scientists.
