Ongoing Operational Support October 26, 2003 - Spanish Soyuz Mission Cervantes
Today is a calm day when you look at the Belgian experiments, only Promiss2 is scheduled. With Promiss2, scientists want to acquire a better understanding of protein crystal growth processes . The experiment can be followed on the ground by the responsibles. It works in two steps. The B.USOC receives the experiment images and data from the International
Space Station and sends them in their turn to the laboratory (this is
called a User Home Base or UHB) of the Promiss team. This team verifies
their usability as they arrive, so that corrections in the set up are
still possible if necessary. |
